AXON Tubular Products provides new manufactured Inertia Welded drill pipe from 3-1/2" OD through 6-5/8" OD that meets the latest API Standards. With its international supplier relationships it can provide a high quality, high performance drill pipe that meet the latest API standards and beyond.
This drill pipe is manufactured from tubes that allow for tight dimensional tolerances, resulting in a product that provides a 95% minimum wall in every tube. This is as much as 100% more wall wear for API premium class drill pipe. Furthermore, all tool joints meet or exceed API requirements, and all precision threading is performed in accordance with API Spec 7-1.
AXON offers a range of proprietary tool joint connections for high demanding drilling applications. Designed for extended life and enhanced performance characteristics, these connections were developed using the latest 3D design tools and materials science technology. AXON's connections are designed and tested within the companies high quality and engineering standards and tested to conform to worldwide industry standards.
Features:
- Traceability - Material and process traceability are maintained for each Drill Collar. The drill collar is given a permanent identification number through its manufacturing process, which is traceable to the original mill testing.
- Mechanical Testing - Material is heat treated full length to guarantee the mechanical properties meet or exceed API Spec 7-1 requirements. Material is maintained within a hardness range of 285-341 BHN, and Charpy "V" Notch testing is maintained at a minimum of 40 ft-lbs at 70ºF at one inch below the surface.
- Phosphate Coating - All new threads are hot phosphate coated to aid in reducing galling and adhesion of the thread compound.
- Stress Relief Features - As needed on connections of NC-38 and up stress relief features on both pin and box connections can be machined.
